Sathyakalam:
Haven of peace where Desika stayed
Sathyagala attained fame due to the stay of the SriVaishnavite Guru Vedanta Desikan in the 14th century, when he had to save rare manuscripts like the Sruti-prakasha, a commentary on the Sri Bhashya of Ramanuja from the Muslim invaders to Srirangam in 1327.
There is a temple for Sri Varadharaja Swamy known as Kote Varadharaja Perumal.
Melkottai - Thirunarayapuram:
- Vairamudi Brahmotsava (Vairamudi Utsav) is an annual spiritual event and festival revered throughout South India.
- In the procession the Lord’s idol is carried on a Golden Garuda Vahanam, along with idols representing his divine consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.
- On the top of the hill is an attractive Melkote Narasimha temple dedicated to Lord Yoga Narasimha. It is believed that the image of Yoga Narasimha temple at melkote was installed by Prahlada himself.
T Narasingapura:
Tirumakudalu Narasipura (Tirumakūḍalu Narasīpura) the temple city of Karnataka, commonly known as T. Narasipura or T.N. Pura, The first name refers to the land at the confluence, (trimakuta in Sanskrit[citation needed] at the confluence of the Kaveri, Kabini and Spatika Sarovara (a mythical lake or spring, also named Gupta Gamini).
The Gunja Narasimha Swamy temple on the right bank of the Kaveri river, is a massive complex belonging to the Vijayanagara period. The image of Narasimha in the sanctum sanctorum has a weighing balance with a twig with seed of the Gunja (botanical name-Abrus precatorius) tree and hence is called Gunja Narasimha Swamy. It signifies the importance of the temple vis-a-vis the Kasi pilgrimage center by a measure of the seedgulaganji.
Thottamallur:
- The idol of Ambegalu Navaneetha Krishna (crawling Krishna with butter in hand), is believed to be the only deity of Lord Sri Krishna in this pose.
- The famous Kriti (musical composition or song) “Jagadodharana Adisidale Yasode” was composed by most prominent composer of Carnatic music Purandaradasa in appreciation of the beauty of this idol.
Malavalli:
Marehalli Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is situated in a very scenic spot surrounded by lush and thick green cover which endlessly spreads the beauty all around. This is one of the most prominent Narasimha Temples in Karnataka.
The Archaeological Survey of India dates the temple to be at least 1200 years and built around 10th century AD.
Maddur:
Maddur is a small town situated on the banks of Shimsha River. It is also known as Arjunapuri and Kadamba Punya Kshetra.

Sri Ugra Narasimhar Temple
The history of the temple dates back to Mahabaratha times when Arjuna wanted to see Krishna in Narasimha Awatara. However Krishna denied him the same. Lord Brahma then installed the idol of Lord Narasimha for Arjuna to view at this place.
Sri Varadharaja Peumal Temple
The history says King vishnuvardhana built this temple 1000 years back and has inscriptions in tamil. His mother lost her eye sight and Ramanujar came in King Vishnuvardhana’s dream and advised him to take his mother to Kanchipuram Varadharajar Temple and she would gain her eye sight.
King Vishnuvardhana’s mother was very old and she could not travel to kanchi. so the king brought the same people from kanchi who designed varadharajar and asked them to create a sculpture same as Kanchi varadarajar. pooja was offered everyday to Varadarajar and on the 48th day after the mangala aarthi she regained her eyesight. since the god answered the prayers he is also called as Nethranarayana. The moolavar is 12 feet height and the temple is very close to Ugranarashima swamy temple.
Nagamangala:
The Saumyakeshava temple (also spelt Sauymakesava or Soumyakeshava) at Nagamangala was constructed in the 12th century by the rulers of the Hoysala empire.
The Saumyakeshava temple is known for its Raghu Kethu Parihara Pooja. The temple is also a Parihara sthalam for Naga Sarpa Dosha. Devotees visit the temple for relief from illness, mental health, marriage obstacles, and child boon.
